Alorica Announces 300 new jobs on first anniversary
PIERRE, SD., November 14, 2007
Alorica, Inc., a North Sioux City customer service management firm, announced plans to create 300 more jobs than originally projected when it expanded to South Dakota a year ago. The announcement came at the celebration of the company’s one-year anniversary in South Dakota. Walk-in job applications are being accepted Wednesday, November 14, 2007 following the press conference.
"This company has not only met its goal of creating 1,000 jobs in South Dakota, but will exceed it with these additional jobs," said Richard Benda, secretary, Department of Tourism and State Development.
Benda noted that in addition to the jobs, Alorica made a $1.2 million investment in the community to get its operations up and running. "That's a substantial economic impact for any size community," he said.
"Support from the Siouxland Initiative, the North Sioux City Economic Development Corporation, and the state of South Dakota has facilitated our success in the local community,"stated Mike Freeman, site director for Alorica's North Sioux City contact center. "We're extremely proud of our people, the extraordinary work environment, and the accomplishments we have achieved together over the past year. We have a great team at Alorica!"
The company is running a three-day job fair in conjunction with the anniversary celebration. Walk-in interviews are welcome from 12:30 – 4 on Wednesday, November 14 and by appointment only on Thursday and Friday.
