Alorica, Inc. and Cingular join forces in North Sioux City

NORTH SIOUX CITY, SD., November 30, 2006
PIERRE, S.D -  The North Sioux City branch of Alorica, Inc. is celebrating a milestone achievement today. The company announced that North Sioux City will soon be home to the Cingular International Care Program – bringing 400 jobs to the community. More than 100 agents will be hired immediately to expand service for the company’s new client.

Alorica Inc., a leading customer service management provider, set up shop in North Sioux City just three months ago, when the company announced it would bring 1000 jobs to the area.

"This is a great testament to the North Sioux City workforce," said Richard Benda, secretary of the Department of Tourism and State Development. "In just three months, the South Dakota branch has proven itself as a dedicated and strong player in this national company."

"This is tremendous news for North Sioux City and southeast South Dakota," said NSCEDC Executive Director Kory Menken. "We are excited that Alorica is on track to either meet or exceed their goal of creating 1000 new jobs in our community. Today's announcement further exemplifies Alorica's stellar reputation within the customer service industry, as well as their commitment to growing in South Dakota."

Looking to fill more than 100 new positions this month, Alorica is currently hiring customer service agents to support Cingular’s customers. "North Sioux City will provide support for the Cingular International Care Program. This function includes calls of a customer service and technical support nature. Agents will provide world class care functions including roamer provisioning, dialing and/or troubleshooting, and other customer care activities," according to Mike Freeman, Alorica Site Director. Freeman confirmed that with nearly 200 hires since the launch in late October, Alorica is on track to bring more than 1,000 jobs to the Siouxland area throughout the next two years. Alorica will celebrate the momentum with a grand opening celebration at the contact center mid-December.

Career Opportunities:

Targeting hires for a December 11 training class, Alorica will host "Career Empowerment Events" December 5, 6 and 7 at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 and 6:00 p.m. at the center located at 300 Centennial Drive. No reservation is necessary, and facility walk-ins are encouraged. "These events will include comprehensive information for applicants as well as group interviews. Many candidates will receive an offer of employment prior to leaving the event," said Alorica’s Human Resources Manager, Jo Prince.

In addition to the contact center’s Career Empowerment Events, Alorica will be accepting applications through the company’s online resources. Candidates can submit applications through Alorica’s employer website at Aloricajobs.com. Alorica is also promoting in-person application submissions anytime at the North Sioux City facility for persons unable to attend the comprehensive Career Empowerment Events.
