As consumers adopt new technologies to make payments, merchants and their partners must adapt to the changing point-of-sale (POS) landscape to stay competitive. This week, Dina Sha’altiel, VP of PayNow Operations and Financial Risk at Alorica, participated in a “Frictionless Commerce at the Point of Sale” panel at TRANSACT Tech NYC.
The event, put on by the Electronic Transactions Associations (ETA) in partnership with International Biometrics Identity Association (IBIA), brought together leading banking, retail and FinTech companies with innovative startups and venture capitalists to discuss biometrics, next generation authentication, and secure and frictionless commerce.
“Adopting a fierce compliance program and understanding the consumer at point-of-sale for web-based payments is the key to enhancing the consumer’s experience, prevent fraud and increase revenue,” said Dina. “Engaging in ‘smart’ technology is only part of the solution. Holistically it’s all about understanding your clients, their customers and the types of serviced provided. This allows us to build a robust and efficient validation process in the no-card present environment, minimizing the risk in processing a payment.”
