Alorica’s support of the military runs deep. We not only appreciate our team members who bring their military experience to the workplace; we also support organizations that directly impact military veterans.
Our partnership with client, La Quinta, is a great example of this commitment. Together, Alorica and La Quinta provide financial support to Fisher House Foundation, a non-profit agency that builds “home away from homes” for families of patients receiving medical care at military and VA medical centers.
Recently, Alorica employee, Walt Vercoe, Director, Client Solutions, joined La Quinta to support Team Fisher House for the annual Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) in Washington DC. Team Fisher House was an MCM Charity partner for the 12th year in a row.
“The route was lined with Marine Corps enlists encouraging the runners verbally and with high-fives,” said Walt. “My role at the Fisher House tent was to ensure all the runners were well cared for.”
Our involvement in this event marks an established relationship with La Quinta and Fisher House. Earlier this year, Alorica participated in the dedication of a new Fisher House at the Houston VA Medical Center—one that Alorica helped build with money raised during 2015 and 2016.
Making Lives Better with Alorica (MLBA) chapters across the U.S. also support military organizations with donations and volunteer hours. One such chapter is San Antonio Wood Way.
Last week, site directors Sharon Leal and Lisa Lark , volunteered at the American GI Forum to help prepare for their annual Stand Down event, now in its 20th year.
On the day of the event, Sharon joined Talent Acquisitions Manager, Lakansha Dixon, and Operations Team Managers, Terri Gonzales and Yesenia Hernandez, to work in the Women’s Pavilion, distributing needed personal items to women vets who are homeless or in transient housing.
Thank you, Alorica family, for the many different ways that you support military veterans and their families through organizations like these. Your actions are truly amazing!
